Bargaining Unit: UUP Job Summary: The Department of Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS) / Attending Physician. The successful candidate will: Perform all functions of an attending Emergency Medicine Physician in all areas of the Emergency Department (Main, Fast Track, Pediatrics). This includes medical management, utilization of appropriate consultations, and timely patient dispositions while appropriately supervising residents, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. It also includes creating timely and accurate medical records communication the care rendered and decision-making process. Work must be collaborative and collegial and adhere to the highest professional standards.

Requirements

  • New York State Medical License.
  • Board Certified in Emergency Medicine or Board Eligible if residency was completed within the prior 5-years.
  • If Board Certified, must maintain PALS certification.
  • If Board Eligible, must maintain BLS, ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications.
