The Department of Communicative Disorders and Sciences (CDS), University at Buffalo, The State University of New York invites applications to apply for a full-time, twelve-month, term position in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology. Appointment will be made at the rank of Clinical Assistant or Clinical Associate Professor depending on candidate profile. Areas of faculty interest must include clinical experience/expertise in differential diagnosis and treatment of adult neurogenic motor speech disorders and dysphagia. Experience with a variety of treatment methods and paradigms (individual/group/tele-practice) is desired. Applicants must be skilled in evidence-based practice and clinical education. The primary responsibilities of this position are to provide graduate student clinical education and training for CDS's Master of Arts Graduate program in Speech-Language Pathology. Faculty are expected to take part in all facets of graduate SLP training including direct clinical supervision in the UB Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Clinic and in the Western New York Community, collaborate on research projects, and perform administrative duties associated with the clinic. The hired faculty member will be encouraged to develop their own specialty clinic and they will be expected to teach graduate level coursework within their areas of expertise. Additionally, faculty will be responsible for providing service to the department, to the university, and to the community. UB is a member of the AAU and has a strong tradition of research excellence in Communication Sciences and Disorders that includes training of doctoral students. With support from the College of Arts and Sciences, the department is committed to building on existing research, clinical, and academic capacities to continue to provide leadership in the fields of speech-language pathology, hearing science, and related disorders.
