About The Position

The Clinical Applications Coordinator (CAC) is responsible for leading, implementing, and managing and optimizing the Resource and Patient Management System (RPMS) and related Electronic Health Record (EHR) applications. This role focuses on ensuring that RPMS functions effectively, providing ongoing training to staff, and supporting users with technical issues. The CAC also manages system updates, coordinates user access, and ensures smooth integration with other clinical applications. The primary focus is on ensuring the best possible usage of RPMS through training and support.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of RPMS, EHR systems, and related clinical applications within a healthcare setting.
  • Understanding of clinical workflows, patient registration, scheduling, documentation, billing, and reporting processes.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA and applicable tribal and federal requirements.
  • Must be able to generate required reports for leadership, grant, contract, and regulatory agencies.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information science or related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Three years’ experience as a Clinical Applications Coordinator with systems installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and end user support required.
  • Ability to complete HIPAA training within 30 days of employment, and other related training as required.
  • Must be able to pass a thorough pre-employment background investigation.
  • Must agree to be subject to the Tribe's Controlled Substance and Alcohol Testing Policy to include pre-employment screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, health information management, healthcare administration, or related field preferred.
  • Five or more years’ related work experience is preferred.
  • Experience in culturally informed care.
  • Experience working with tribal communities is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, manage, and support patient management systems, electronic health records, and various clinical software applications including RPMS, EHR, Clinical Scheduling (BMW), Care360, Child Profile, Prodata, ProviderOne, OneHealthPort, Availity, etc. Lead major systems updates and new systems implementation.
  • Provide user support and training for multi-disciplinary healthcare professionals and support staff.
  • Create and submit reports to support patient care, billing, operational efficiency, and grant, contract, and government compliance.
  • Troubleshoot problems with software applications and collaborate with Snoqualmie Tribe IT staff, Indian Health Services IT staff, and others to resolve user and/or system problems.
  • Work with IHS and other EHR entities to implement a comprehensive standardized integrated health care information system, develop templates, import and export EHR components, create pick lists and other patient care and data tracking tools.
  • Coordinate the electronic capture of clinical encounter information and subsequent retrieval and work with program staff on ensure accuracy of data. Routinely review data and correct errors in RPMS.
  • Analyze and evaluate clinic processes related to information flow and capture within RPMS applications.
  • Analyze and test system for operating efficiency. Identify and resolve problems within scope of authority or recommend improvements.
  • Audit and ensure data validity, data security, and compliance with relevant Privacy Acts and
  • Act as department resource and liaison between IT and Health and Wellness department users for telecommunication system and service, printer, copier, internet, software support, etc.
