About The Position

The Clinical Adoption Coach I provides clinical technology support through collaboration, learning and performance instruction with a focus on providers and clinicians for clinical service delivery across the continuum. The Adoption Coach collaborates with subject matter experts and clinicians to ensure optimal and most efficient use of the EHR.   Clinical Adoption Coach I provides the pertinent specific EHR domain capability to ensure continuity of the platform.  This role is critical to ensuring the translation of current vs future state workflow in the implementation of new technology and optimization of current technologies. The Clinical Adoption Coach I is also responsible for implementing mitigation strategies and escalation if an end user is challenged with adoption and/or the execution of change management.  They are required to be a resource to Super Users, At-The-Elbow (ATE) during implementations, upgrades, and optimization initiatives.   The position requires a working knowledge of clinical documentation workflows, within an Electronic Health Record (EHR) and is responsible for supporting various EMR Systems.   This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating commitment to teamwork and cooperation.   Works under moderate supervision.  This position requires on-call responsibilities and rotational shift coverage (early and late shifts) as needed.  This position acts as a liaison to other AtlantiCare departments as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a related area preferred.
  • Valid New Jersey Driver’s License required.
  • 0-3 years of experience in the field or in a related area.  Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures within a particular field.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, and maintains an in-depth level of knowledge of IT and Operational workflows for the clinical areas they work with.
  • Conducts current state and future state review sessions, documents, and solicits feedback from customers in preparation for projects.
  • Support AtlantiCare’s onboarding and standards by transferring new system functionality knowledge to operational partners and HR to add into into training curricula.
  • Responsible for comprehensive understanding of the current Electronic Health Record (EHR) curriculum and maintaining an up‑to‑date, working knowledge of existing clinical and operational workflows.
  • Participates in incident, change and problem management services as it relates to their respective team within AtlantiCare IT.
  • Responsible for creating, updating, and maintaining high‑quality educational materials that support end‑user proficiency and system adoption for new system functionality.
  • Develops clear and accurate education on various platforms including, but not limited to, written, audio/video recording, and live teaching sessions using approved templates, systems, and tools
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining strong proficiency within the organization’s Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Learning the structure, functionality, and administrative processes of the LMS to effectively support educational delivery.
  • Achieving proficiency in at least 2 service lines by demonstrating excellent knowledge of all its required onboarding content, workflows, and system competencies.
  • Documents operational and clinical workflows through working with end users in order to prepare for system enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality.
  • Works with clinicians and providers to achieve optimal and most efficient use of the EHR and other IT tools, incorporating a data driven approach to identify priorities and opportunities to improve adoption.
  • Conducts performance-based measurement and data incorporated assessments for evaluation of training programs, including development and deployment of electronic surveys and analysis of data from relevant tools.
  • Works collaboratively with physician leadership, organizational leadership, IT and others to provide integrated and coordinated learning projects in support of the organization’s vision, mission, and goals.
  • Acts as a liaison with Clinical Informatics and Applications Analysts throughout IT, translating workflows and participating in system testing.
  • Creates and distributes deliverables to educate end users on upgrades, alerts, workflow changes, and clinical information system implementations.
  • Actively works with the business to promote end-user engagement and system adoption; assists in developing a formal communications and adoption program.
  • Consider quality metrics in the design of content as appropriate.
  • Assists in developing content for clinical testing and validation with Clinical Adoption and Testing Leads.  Works with the team to test system functionality as required.
  • Works with other teams to develop and deliver specific communications and adoption strategies.
  • May be a first point of contact for user support and problem solving related to new system functions.
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to effectively tailor messaging based on the audience and subject matter.
  • Monitors attendance and requirements for required training assigned and provides mechanisms for soliciting ongoing feedback from all users.
  • Maintains membership on, or consultation to, appropriate committees, work groups or task forces as needed to facilitate the ongoing process of the design, implementation and revision of automated and manual components of clinical information system and associated education.
  • Maintains a broad knowledge of hardware, operating systems, applications, and process
  • Maintains a positive and open attitude to change.
  • Maintains patient, family, physician and employee confidentiality.
  • Utilize the ITIL framework in the areas of incident, change and problem management services within AtlantiCare.
  • Maintains knowledge of security and data integrity issues related to the clinical information system.
  • Reviews and provide feedback on, and validates system domains
