The Clinic Receptionist plays a key role in creating a positive first impression for patients and visitors. This position ensures smooth patient flow by managing scheduling, registration, and payment collection while providing exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Proficiency with computers and ability to learn EHR systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Basic understanding of insurance and billing processes.
  • Professional, courteous, and committed to confidentiality.
  • Patient-focused with a strong customer service mindset.
  • Organized, dependable, and able to multitask efficiently.
  • Strong communicator who works well with both patients and staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong data entry accuracy and computer proficiency.
  • Ability to manage appointment scheduling efficiently.
  • Understand of co-pay collection and basic billing procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
  • Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and provide information about clinic services.
  • Assist patients with check-in procedures and direct them to appropriate areas.
  • Collect co-pays and patient payments at time of service.
  • Accurately post payments and provide receipts.
  • Ensure accurate entry of demographic information and financial information into the EHR.
  • Verify insurance eligibility and update coverage information as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate levels of front office supplies, forms, and patient materials.
  • Submit supply requisitions and coordinate with purchasing for timely restocking.
  • Keep the reception area organized and prepared for daily operations.
  • Follow HIPPA and clinical policies to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Adhere to established registration, scheduling and billing procedures.
  • Participate in training and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Communicate with nurses, providers, and clinic staff to support efficient patient flow.
  • Assist with patient reminders, follow up calls, and schedule adjustments.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned and contribute to a team-oriented work environment.
