CHI St. Alexius Health is a regional health network with a tertiary hospital in Bismarck, the system also consists of critical access hospitals (CAHs) in Carrington, Dickinson, Devils Lake, Garrison, Turtle Lake, Washburn and Williston and numerous clinics and outpatient services. Position acts as a lead for all secretarial, receptionist and clerical positions in the department. Cordially greets and receives guests, ascertains their needs and appropriately directs visitors and callers. Answers the telephone, schedules office appointments for all patients and maintains patient charts. Responsible for scanning and indexing patient charts. Assists the patient accounting/billing department personnel with any behavioral health clinic billing issues. Completes daily audits of charges to ensure accuracy and completion of all charge entries. Provides assistance with random chart audits to ensure all necessary documentation is completed. Courteously answers the phone and takes accurate messages; answers routine questions regarding departmental policies and procedures according to guidelines; receives hospital clients, ascertains needs and directs guests appropriately. Makes up charts, maintains and updates files including but not limited to the completion of all scanning and indexing needs for the mental health services clinic. Sets a high standard of performance for self and others; assumes responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposes standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed. Contributes to the financial success of the department. Effectively manages one’s time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently. Provides assistance to clinic billing/coding specialists as needed in order to complete billing in an accurate manner. Assimilates and applies new job-related information in a timely manner. Complies with all applicable statutes, rules, and regulations, policies and procedures, and the Corporate Ethics Program. Willingly performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
