About The Position
The Clinic Evaluation Nurse is responsible for providing direct and indirect physical, psychosocial and spiritual care for patients with cancer and other related disease processes The oncology nurse will also act as the patient's advocate and educator Performs and documents initial and routine assessments and evaluations on oncology patients A resource to patients and families and directs them to the appropriate support services Performs the skills required to care for oncology patients receiving chemotherapy Provides coordination of services across the continuum of care. Attends/engages in continued education opportunities related to oncology care annually
Requirements
- IA RN or PN license (or compact state)
- Minimum of 1 year nursing experience
- Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Certification required prior to completion of orientation/chemo administration
Nice To Haves
- Oncology Certification (OCN) is preferred but not mandatory
