About The Position

This position involves administering clinical business and operational affairs with a strong focus on analyzing and maximizing clinical revenues, as well as implementing effective practices and control procedures. Key responsibilities include preparing, monitoring, analyzing, and managing budgets to promote cost-effective practices. The role also entails planning the utilization of space and facilities for clinics, analyzing billing procedures to ensure proper reimbursement, and coordinating policies with department and Medical School administration. The administrator is responsible for developing staffing plans, assisting in the design of integrated systems for clinical operations (such as registration, scheduling, and electronic medical records), preparing clinical data for various reports and processes, coordinating clinical reports for providers, and managing physician clinical contracts with external parties and legal counsel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or combination of education and/or experience may substitute for minimum education.
  • Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
  • 5 years of work experience in an Academic Health Center, Hospital, Or Healthcare Industry Setting.
  • Progressive management experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification must be obtained within one month of hire date.
  • Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, monitors, analyzes and manages budgets and promotes cost-effective practices for department.
  • Plans the utilization of space and facilities for clinics consistent with requirements of organizational efficiency and available facilities and funds.
  • Analyzes billing procedures to ensure proper reimbursement of revenue for services.
  • Coordinates policies and practices with department and Medical School administration.
  • Develops staffing plans, which include performance standards, recruitment, performance evaluations, promotions and dismissals.
  • Assists with the design of integrated systems and processes to support clinical operations, including registration, scheduling and electronic medical records.
  • Prepares clinical data for quarterly projections and reporting, department strategic plan and annual budget processes.
  • Coordinates clinical reports to providers, proformas and faculty financial reporting.
  • Coordinates physician clinical contracts with external parties and General Counsel's office.
