Elena's Way, Wellness Shelter Client Support Staff (2nd Shift)
About The Position
Elena’s Way, a Preble Street Wellness Shelter, provides shelter and intensive support services to 40 individuals experiencing homelessness and complex physical and mental health needs, in a 24-hour trauma-informed environment grounded in social work and medical best practices. A Client Support Staff position is currently available in this service-inclusive, client-centered shelter program. As part of the team providing comprehensive services to individuals accessing the Wellness Shelter, Elena’s Way Client Support Staff provides outreach and engages with clients, provide direct services and program coverage, maintain safety in program spaces, provide crisis intervention and support, and assist in case management activities. The schedule available for this position is Friday-Monday 1:00pm-11:00pm
Requirements
- Education in social work or related field of study and experience in direct service provision to people experiencing homelessness, or a comparable combination of work experience, education, and/or training.
- Alignment with Preble Street’s mission, positive regard for individuals accessing services for homelessness and poverty, and a commitment to providing low-barrier services.
- Strong communication, de-escalation, and crisis intervention skills.
- Familiarity with community resources.
- Ability to engage with and maintain professional boundaries with diverse populations
- Ability to work as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, with consistent and reliable attendance.
