About The Position

Every broker-dealer like Apex Clearing must report tax obligations for each investor's account to the IRS. The Apex Tax team is responsible for calculating and reporting taxes for over 90 million brokerage accounts, including those for Apex Clearing, as well as for many of the most well-known Broker-Dealers. As a Client Services Intern - Tax, you will be part of a team that sells these services throughout the industry while supporting an existing client base of best-in-class Broker-Dealers. Duties will include supporting and improving current business processes, leveraging AI where appropriate. Duties may also include participating in sales and client meetings. To be considered, you must be able to commit to a 10-week hybrid internship and work 40 hours per week during our summer program.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability towork well in a dynamic, client-responsive, and faced-paced environment
  • Excellent analytical skills, business partnering, problem solving and prioritization skills
  • Ability to learn a process and suggest actionable improvement solutions
  • Ability to read and understand contracts
  • Fundamental AI knowledge or aptitude to leverage AI to help improve business processes
  • Ability to take detailed notes and generate step by step documentation to assist with AI prompting / training
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Economics, Tax, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Management, Communications, MIS, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Rising Senior standing, Aug 2026 – Jun 2027 graduate
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • General interest in Fintech.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze key workflows to surface friction points, differentiators, and opportunities.
  • Communicating across teams internally (sales, operations, product, tech ops, etc.) to solve client problems.
  • Maintaining up-to-date process documentation and procedures for all tasks.
  • Communicating with clients and creating monthly status reports.
