About The Position

The Customer Service Associate is responsible is responsible for accurately generating and processing customer invoices for waste collection, transportation, and disposal services. This role ensures that all billing reflects regulatory requirements, contractual terms, and company policies while maintaining a high level of customer service and compliance.

Requirements

High School Diploma / GED required.
2+ years of billing, accounts receivable, or related accounting experience—waste, environmental services, or transportation industry experience strongly preferred.
Experience working in multiple ERP systems
Must exercise good judgement and problem-solving skills
Demonstrate attention to detail and time management
Ability to analyze information and suggest improvements
Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

Prepare and issue invoices for waste services, including transportation, treatment, and disposal, in accordance with customer contracts and pricing agreements.
Verify that all supporting documentation (manifests, weight tickets, profiles, purchase orders) is complete and accurate before billing.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations (e.g., EPA, DOT) as they pertain to billing documentation.
Reconcile discrepancies by working with operations, customer service, and sales teams to resolve issues promptly.
Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, adjustments, and credits for auditing and regulatory purposes.
Respond to internal and external billing inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
Assist with month-end closing activities, revenue reporting, and audit requests.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and participate in cross-functional projects as needed.
