Client Service Representative
About The Position
VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center is a fast-paced, 24-hour emergency and specialty referral hospital located in beautiful San Diego, California. We recently opened our brand-new, state-of-the-art facility and are expanding our team! We are currently seeking a Client Service Representative (CSR) to be the welcoming face and voice of our hospital. As a CSR, you will play a critical role in providing outstanding service to our clients while supporting our medical team in delivering exceptional care to their pets. The ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, thrives in a busy environment, and has a passion for helping people and animals.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–2 years of customer service experience, preferably in a veterinary, medical, or high-volume environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced setting while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Proficient in computers and multi-line phone systems
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as part of a 24/7 hospital team
Nice To Haves
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus but not required
Responsibilities
- Greeting clients and checking in emergency and specialty patients with warmth and efficiency
- Answering high-volume phones, directing calls, and taking detailed messages for doctors and staff
- Scheduling appointments and managing multi-department calendars
- Accurately entering client and patient information into the hospital information system
- Explaining hospital policies, estimates, and services to clients
- Processing invoices, collecting payments, and managing financial transactions
- Assisting with client communications during emergency situations
- Providing support and empathy during end-of-life care discussions and client grief
