Shadow Lake Animal Hospital is a full-service small animal hospital serving the Ormond Beach Community since 1977, while offering the gold standard in medical and surgical care. We combine advanced technology (including digital radiography, dental radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy) with a compassionate, experienced support team who truly love what they do. We know that starting somewhere new can feel overwhelming; that’s why we’ve built an incredible onboarding program designed to set you up for success. We pair new team members with experienced mentors, provide ongoing education opportunities, and foster an environment where questions are welcomed, and collaboration is celebrated! Our practice is open Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. We are closed Saturday and Sunday. We have an hour for lunch, and have generous time reserved for writing medical records and for client communication. There are no on-call responsibilities! Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of veterinary medical practices, procedures, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in compassionately handling and restraining animals, including those exhibiting stress or fear.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, multitask, and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using veterinary software for patient records and medical documentation.
  • Physical capability to lift, carry, and restrain animals of varying sizes.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Veterinary Technology or equivalent from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

  • Greet clients warmly and professionally, creating a welcoming and comforting atmosphere.
  • Schedule appointments, surgeries, and procedures, ensuring optimal utilization of veterinary staff and resources.
  • Answer phone calls, address client inquiries, and provide information about our services and policies.
  • Efficiently manage client check-ins, verifying patient information, updating records, and obtaining necessary paperwork.
  • Process payments accurately and provide clients with detailed invoices and receipts.
  • Coordinate smooth check-out processes, including scheduling follow-up appointments and providing post-operative care instructions.
  • Assist veterinary technicians and veterinarians with various tasks, including animal restraint, medication administration, and sample collection.
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinic/hospital environment by disinfecting surfaces, sanitizing equipment, and cleaning kennels and cages.'
  • Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring they are well-stocked and organized.
