Job Description: This job is responsible for supporting the development of automated reporting solutions via self-serve business intelligence tools. Key responsibilities include participating in assigned phases of the report development process which may include performing data discovery, data automation, creating report visualizations, and report deployment. Job expectations include developing, maintaining, or enhancing components of large reporting platforms to deliver comprehensive end to end reporting and analytical solutions.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of relevant experience
  • 1+ years of experience creating end to end BI solutions including requirement gathering, sourcing, transformation, and report creation
  • 1+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting, demonstrating proficiency using SAS/SQL query language to accessing multiple data sources/databases
  • 1+ years of Tableau / Microstrategy experience
  • Ability to manage varied set of priorities, both planned and ad-hoc, and adapt within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • High level of multi-tasking with focus and oversight on requests across the team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate and interact with a high degree of professionalism with executive level personnel across the business
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a virtual team
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to challenge the status quo
  • Ability to proactively identify, analyze, and improve upon existing processes for optimization and to meet deadlines
  • Solid understanding of data gathering tools; proficient with business intelligence reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Cognos and Tableau

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, an analytical field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in financial services with emphasis on business insights and data/financial analysis; specific experience with card services.
  • Cutting-edge visualization and storytelling with data.
  • Hands on experience designing data models and data transformation workflow.
  • Experience with Alteryx, Hadoop, Impala, HIVE SQL, SQL server stored procedures and JAMS/Autosys schedulers.
  • Certified MicroStrategy Architect (or other MicroStrategy Certification)
  • Advanced analytical and quantitative skills with demonstrated ability in using data and metrics to identify root causes
  • Basic understanding of 1st and 3rd party fraud (claims to charge-off timing, chargeback recovery rights, etc.)
  • Proven strong analytical and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Partner with claims, policy, strategy, and product teams to deliver data insights and analysis that inform critical decisions and help achieve goals.
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of innovative automated business intelligence solutions, supporting data-driven business decisions
  • Develops, and maintains automated data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes from various database platforms, storing data in ‘Fit for Use’ relational tables
  • Analyzes disparate database sources including relational structures, dimensional data models, and cubes
  • Supports the development and build of relational data models, supporting the development of actionable reports, dashboards, and scorecards
  • Works with the team to support the development of business requirements
  • Creates and maintains required standard documentation including metadata, detailed workflows documenting programs, and desktop procedures
  • Works collaboratively in a cross-functional team, processing information from colleagues and providing routine updates during meetings related to projects
  • Solid understanding of data gathering tools; proficient with business intelligence reporting tools such as MicroStrategy, Cognos and Tableau
  • Handles multiple priorities at once and possesses strong communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong leadership qualities and consistently shows initiative
  • Analyze complex data to provide insights into incoming and loss trends or identify potential problems
  • Develop adhoc reporting for Consumer Card Products and Channels
  • Identify process improvements and efficiencies via data analysis
  • Deliver accurate metrics related to fraud and claim activity
  • Validate the integrity and quality of data required for performing analysis
