WHAT WINNING LOOKS LIKE On the technical side: Books close clean, on time, every month - no mysteries, no "I'll fix that later" Bank recs done right the first time, every time Payroll on schedule without errors or scrambles You catch problems before anyone has to ask Files, notes, and documentation current and complete — without being reminded On the client side — this is where good becomes great: Your clients feel cared for, not just serviced You pick up the phone — when something's unclear, when a client seems confused, when email is going in circles, you call. You don't hide behind a message thread. When something goes sideways, you own it and tell them before they find out on their own You translate a confusing P&L into plain language a plumber can actually use Your clients would tell someone: "My accountant is amazing." We call this unreasonable hospitality. We hold everyone on this team to it. WHAT THIS ROLE IS Full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting for a dedicated portfolio of trades clients Monthly financial reporting — P&L, balance sheet, cash flow — clean and client-ready Payroll processing (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly) Bank and credit card reconciliations Sales tax filings and 1099 processing Tax preparation support — gathering and prepping client files for handoff (not preparing returns yourself) QBO setup, cleanup, and ongoing maintenance Proactive client communication — calls, emails, follow-ups — all documented Primary tools: QuickBooks Online, Canopy, Double, SharePoint, Zoom, UltraTax, Teams, AI In-person at our Vero Beach, FL office, Monday–Friday. After a successful introductory period, the right person may earn one remote day per week. Presence matters here.
