About The Position

We are seeking a Client Development Associate to support the early stages of new client opportunities and help create a more consistent experience for prospective clients. The role will lead initial discovery calls, help prepare team members for upcoming conversations, assist in creating proposals, and maintain accurate information in the CRM. The position also has a built-in path for growth. As you learn our service lines and understand client needs, you will take on additional ownership of introductory and follow-up steps in the business development process. You will receive structured onboarding and ongoing coaching from experienced external advisors to support your growth and help you develop confidence in professional services business development.

Requirements

  • Experience in business development, account coordination, customer service, project coordination, or related work.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable leading conversations and asking clear questions.
  • Willingness to learn consultative selling within a professional services environment.
  • Alignment with Donovan’s firm values.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a CPA firm or other professional services setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Client Discovery and Initial Conversations: Conduct first-discovery calls with inbound buyers to understand their needs and uncover the right solutions
  • Proposal Support: Assist team members in drafting and assembling proposals to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
  • Partner and Team Coordination: Communicate key details, next steps, and expectations to prospects and team members. You are the quarterback of the sales process.
  • Relationship Outreach: Find new business through trusted relationships by reconnecting with referral partners, dormant inquiries, and previous opportunities.
  • CRM and Process Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records by running weekly pipeline reviews by ensuring all information is complete and current.
  • Networking Support: Attend selected community or professional events with partners to build familiarity with referral sources and industry contacts.
