Job Overview: Client and Community Engagement Coordinator serves IRC Arizona’s Phoenix and Tucson offices with a primary focus on coordinating client-facing outreach and engagement activities. This role is centered on planning, organizing, and supporting food distributions, client information sessions, and community-based events that directly support client access to services. The Coordinator works closely with case coordination teams to ensure outreach activities are aligned with program needs, client priorities, and service delivery timelines. The position strengthens connections between clients, programs, and community partners while ensuring activities are well-coordinated, accessible, and responsive to client needs. In addition to direct outreach coordination, the role supports broader client engagement, feedback, and community partnership efforts in collaboration with the Community Engagement and Advocacy Senior Manager and Deputy Director of Programs.

Requirements

  • Education: Undergraduate degree preferred in a relevant field of study.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated Skills & Competencies: Demonstrated experience working with refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, and or immigrant populations required.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and present information to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to develop new initiatives and adapt programming as priorities evolve.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Language Skills: Proficiency in English required; bilingual ability in Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French, or other refugee/immigrant language preferred.
  • Certificates or Licenses: Valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, and access to reliable transportation.
  • Must possess or be eligible for a fingerprint clearance card per Arizona state law.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate food distributions and client-facing outreach activities across Phoenix and Tucson, including logistics, scheduling, partner coordination, and on-site support.
  • Plan and facilitate client information sessions related to IRC programs, services, benefit eligibility, and community resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between outreach efforts, case coordination teams, and community partners to ensure client needs, referrals, and follow-up are clearly communicated and tracked.
  • Track outreach activities, participation, and basic outcomes to support planning, reporting, and continuous improvement.
  • Support outreach strategies, advocacy efforts, and community engagement initiatives in coordination with office leadership and the Community Engagement and Advocacy Senior Manager.
  • Maintain and support relationships with community partners, including food banks, community organizations, and Ethnic Community Based Organizations.
  • Coordinate with IRC headquarters teams as needed to support outreach, engagement, and advocacy initiatives.
  • Support client engagement and capacity-building initiatives, including client advisory bodies and other feedback and collaboration mechanisms.
  • Promote the inclusion of client perspectives in program design, office strategy, and funding proposals.
  • Support client feedback and accountability processes, including surveys, focus groups, complaints, and feedback action plans, ensuring timely follow-up and communication of outcomes.
  • Organize and support community events, group sessions, and client-facing activities that strengthen trust, connection, and access to resources.
  • Maintain strong connections with refugee and diaspora communities and elevate community-identified priorities, needs, and opportunities to office leadership.
  • Support community leadership development, civic engagement, and advocacy activities in collaboration with partners.
