About The Position

Performs a variety of routine clerical duties in accordance with established policies and standard operating procedures. Responsibilities include answering and routing telephone calls; organizing, maintaining, and retrieving files; accurate data entry; providing professional customer service to the public, internal staff, and outside law enforcement agencies; responding to records requests in compliance with applicable regulations; and performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Knowledge of modern clerical and office practices, with proficiency in computer software applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential job functions.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in assessing the urgency and priority of requests.
  • Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff members, department leadership, the public, and outside agencies or officials.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 45 words per minute.
  • Must be willing and able to work assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background investigation and CVSA Truth Verification examination.
  • The successful applicant will also be required to complete a pre-employment physical examination and drug screening.
  • All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire.
  • As a condition of employment all employees must pass a post offer physical examination and drug screen.
  • And submit proof of identity and employment eligibility.
