About The Position

Temporary Part-time Clerk Typist - 32 hours - Community Education 32 hours per week Initial hours of assignment: Monday: 8:30am – 3.15pm Tuesday: 9:00am – 3:15pm Wednesday: 9:00am – 3:15pm Thursday: 9:00am – 3:15pm Friday: 9:00am – 3:30pm Dates of assignment: 6/22/26 – 8/11/26 Typical Work Activities: Support onsite coordination and supervision of both summer WOW and Little WOW programs. Set-up and take down of remote WOW office, Set-up of weekly set-up of WOW and Little WOW classes. Consistently monitor class status and communicate confirmations, cancelations to instructors, students and school buildings. Handle registrations, transfers and cancelations for students. Coordinate with all buildings in the district to schedule class locations. Arrange for class equipment necessary for classes. Must have excellent customer service skills both on the phone and in-person. Must be outgoing and comfortable with interpersonal communications. Responsible for payroll submission, reimbursement claim forms and expense reports for summer instructors Organizational skills Strong computer skills Working knowledge of office equipment. Qualifications: Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma including or supplemented by a course in typing. NOTE: Office clerical experience, including typing, may be substituted for the high school requirement on a year for year basis. NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements. Special Requirements: Working knowledge of office terminology procedures, and equipment; working knowledge of business arithmetic and English; ability to type from clear copy or rough draft at a reasonable rate of speed; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; ability to write legibly; clerical aptitude; mental alertness; neatness, tact and courtesy; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Ability to interact in a professional manner with staff and business people; Must have excellent phone etiquette skills; Must have excellent organizational skills; Must have excellent interpersonal skills; Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point is required; Must be able to maintain confidentiality; Ability to greet public in a pleasant and professional manner; Is familiar with and contributes to the successful implementation of the District's Mission and Belief statements; Proficiency in MS Office Suite to accomplish a variety of clerical tasks; Regular attendance is a must. Reports to: Work is performed under the direct supervision of a higher ranking employee, who gives detailed instructions for new assignments and practices.
