About The Position

Reports to Human Resources/ Secretary. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to driving while intoxicated (DWI) programs in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school diploma or equivalent or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • Must complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) prior to inmate contact.
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Clerical, administrative, or related experience to include computer operations preferred.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform varied administrative duties including performing data entry functions
  • Support staff in the maintenance of accurate and complete case reports, records, and statistics necessary for the evaluation of the program. Maintain confidentiality of inmate records.
  • Assist in maintenance of recovery literature libraries
  • Assist in preparation of monthly operational reports.
  • Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors are intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills, procedures and intervention techniques.
  • Maintain accountability of offenders and property; adhere to safety practices
  • It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/ her capabilities as determined by management.
