About The Position

Hamilton Unit located in Bryan, TX, is now hiring career-minded people to assist with securing the safety of our community while positively impacting the lives of those on the inside. Position Summary: Reports to Human Resources/ Secretary. Responsible for clerical tasks, systems and procedures related to driving while intoxicated (DWI) programs in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC), and Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) directives. Essential Functions: Perform varied administrative duties including performing data entry functions Support staff in the maintenance of accurate and complete case reports, records, and statistics necessary for the evaluation of the program. Maintain confidentiality of inmate records. Assist in maintenance of recovery literature libraries Assist in preparation of monthly operational reports. Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors are intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed; provide regular feedback to staff regarding social skills, procedures and intervention techniques. Maintain accountability of offenders and property; adhere to safety practices It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/ her capabilities as determined by management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited senior high school diploma or equivalent or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
  • Must complete Correctional Awareness Training (CAT) prior to inmate contact.
  • Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check, both of which must be approved by Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Clerical, administrative, or related experience to include computer operations preferred.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent to include word processing, spreadsheet, database, or presentation software programs preferred.
