About The Position

Primary Purpose: Coordinate and manage the requisite payroll services for drivers with daily monitoring of the Kronos system and coaches on trips. Safely drive students to and from school on a schedule assigned by the Transportation Department. Safely transport students and staff to and from district sanctioned activities. Always act in the best interest of the district, the students and the community. Requirements

  • College hours, high School diploma or GED (preferred)
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements
  • School Bus Driver Certification or able to obtain with six months of hire date
  • Pass annual physical in accordance with state law
  • Negative result on drug and/or alcohol tests administered as pre-employment, random, post-accident and/or reasonable suspicion basis, in accordance with federal law and district policy
  • Two Years’ school bus driving experience
  • Able to read and interpret maps and routes
  • Able to climb in and out of all school bus emergency exits
  • Ability to use PC and software for payroll processing develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
  • Ability to read and understand documents including policies and procedures manuals
  • Ability to receive and give written and verbal instructions
  • Effective and efficient organizational skills
  • Exceptional communication skills

  • Accounting experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Input driver’s trips into Kronos daily.
  • Monitor driver’s hours weekly to charge back overtime to trips.
  • Communicate with employees regarding hours and adjustments.
  • Make corrections to time stamps based on time correction forms, trip sheets and emails.
  • Monitor that the Aesop system correctly transferred absences.
  • Maintain all payroll related files.
  • Maintain employees lists and provide sign in sheets for safety meetings and in-service.
  • Coordinate with the financial clerk to process inspection forms and registration renewals for vehicles using Fleetvision.
  • Maintain updated information for the vehicles in Fleetvision.
  • Coordinate with the shop foremen for upcoming inspections and renewals a minimum of a month in advance.
  • Coordinate vehicle retirement for site vehicles by collecting license plates and EZ tags.
  • Initiate deactivation forms for final processing with license plates.
  • Provide forms/plates and EZ tag spreadsheet to the financial clerk.
  • Input coach batches into the Munis payroll system.
  • Provide support, as needed, to other positions in the transportation system.
  • Operate any Katy ISD school bus and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner while following all traffic laws, district policies, district regulations and Transportation Department regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
