About The Position

Provides clerical services, instructional support and assists with the daily operation of the campus.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check
  • Proficiency in typing, word processing, and file maintenance skills
  • Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Basic math skills
  • Ability to work well and in a positive manner with students, employees and the public
  • Knowledge of general office equipment
  • Pleasant voice on telephone, personable attitude and appearance to public
  • Ability to remain calm in a stressful situation, and defuse confrontational situations
  • Demonstrates a mature, responsible attitude necessary for the position
  • Ability to operate a multi-line phone system
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principals
  • Minimum one (1) year clerical, secretarial, and/or data entry experience in an office setting

Responsibilities

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times
  • Utilizes district programs to verify, tabulate, and record student information.
  • Assist the campus administration, teachers, and/or staff in the preparation and management of instructional, clerical and program support
  • Receives telephone communications and telephone referrals, routes to the appropriate staff, and maintains an accurate log of each.
  • Assist campus administration with use and/or maintenance of office equipment
  • Perform noon duty during lunch and after school
  • Assist with switchboard as needed
  • Relieve other auxiliary staff when necessary
  • Answer the telephone in a pleasant manner
  • Dispense supplies to the staff, distribute mail, faxes, and items from parent to students
  • Substitute for classrooms that are lacking a teacher until relief arrives
  • Assist with the printing and distribution of reports, interim progress reports, report cards including but not limited to: Add/Drop, Attendance Check Sheets, Class Rosters, Special programs, UIL Eligibility, etc.
  • Assist with registration and textbook distribution
  • Acts as chaperone, as necessary, for college and career field trips
  • Assist with the Coordinate TSI/SAT/ACT registration, NCAA eligibility registration
  • Assist the campus in providing transportation, parking permit information to students, staff and/or parents
  • Supervise students as requested by campus administration
  • Maintain an orderly office area
  • Attend required in-service training sessions as well as individual training as determined by the principal
  • Perform other duties as assigned, based on department needs
  • Must complete designated district technology proficiencies each year
  • Requires a basic knowledge of technology/computer skills
  • Ability to use personal computer to access district programs, emails, and other resources
  • Maintain a consistent professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Texas Educator’s Code of Ethics
  • Daily attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of the job
