About The Position

Staff will maintain ethical and professional communications at all times using respectful Trauma-Informed Care language Work in a fast-paced, high-volume clinic setting Must be a motivated and caring professional Be part of a clinic support team that ensures individuals seeking mental health services are welcomed to the clinic and assisted through the process of receiving ongoing treatment Perform duties in the reception areas of the TPC mental health clinics Duties include answering incoming calls and properly routing them; scheduling and rescheduling established patients; confirming and updating demographic information; answering basic patient questions and assisting with scanning, faxing and filing as needed; verifying documentation is up-to-date for services to be reported in compliance with contracts and payer sources; scheduling provider appointments for services to be performed in the community and clinic; completing financial assessments for people seeking services and ongoing at required intervals; and additional data entry duties as needed Strong data entry and scheduling skills, able to multitask, have attention to detail, the ability to work well with a team and have a professional attitude Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, patients and other staff. Daily duties will be adjusted based on the needs of the clinic and requirements within TPC grants and contracts. The ability to adjust daily job duties is essential to the successful operations within the clinic Able to adjust to changes in work duties, have reliable attendance and have strong customer service skills Majority of each workday will be spent working with people seeking services in the clinic and the providers they receive treatment from Proficient in computer skills to support the responsibilities within the position Adheres to TPC Business Code of Conduct and reports concern if ethical and/or business standards defined in the code are compromised

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college work; or minimum of eighth grade reading comprehension level as evidenced by score on the Adult Basic Learning Examination (ABLE)
  • Six (6) months of clerical work experience

  • Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable under agency vehicle policy
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
