About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to perform routine data entry and clerical work to process and maintain accounts receivable and other financial documentation. Serves as lead employee for the AR area. Essential Functions : Processes documentation pertaining to accounts receivable; Enters financial information into computer systems in order to process transactions and update records; Processes a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures; Operates a personal computer and other electronic devices; Communicates with supervisor, other employees, vendors, and other individuals as needed; Performs Teller functions and other related duties as required. May be required to work after normal business hours, weekends, holidays, Standby Duty or be called out as needed; Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required, supplemented by vocational or technical training in accounting, or a related field
  • supplemented by two years of experience in bookkeeping, maintaining financial records and accounts, or related field
  • or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job
  • Must reside within a radius of Orangeburg, SC that allows for a 30-minute maximum response to call outs and emergencies
  • Must be able to operate a computer and/or tablet to enter, retrieve, review or modify data, utilizing word processing, database, e-mail, or other software
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all City or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position
