About The Position

Equity Clearance and Settlement Operations provides operational support for DTC and NSCC focusing on depository services, trade capture, comparison and netting of virtually all broker-to-broker equity, listed corporate and muni bond and UIT trading in the U.S, culminating into a consolidated end-of-day process that completes the transfer between trading parties of securities ownership and cash daily. A key area of responsibility for the Equity Clearance and Settlement is the support and preparedness of business resiliency and continuity efforts, cyber security events, and default/liquidity management. FICC Operations provides operational support for the Government Security and Mortgage Backed Securities divisions of FICC focusing on trade capture, comparison, netting and settlement services to the mortgage-backed and government securities market thus providing operational efficiency â to this high dollar value market place. A key area of responsibility for the FICC Operations, is the support and preparedness of business resiliency and continuity efforts, cyber security events, and default/liquidity management.

Requirements

Minimum 8 years of related experience
Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

Perform oversight of day-to-day processing activities, including exception resolution, achievement of metrics and benchmarks, adherence to controls, audit follow-up, compliance, and risk management activities

Understand and apply principles, procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized business functions. Support and drive continuous improvement for process and procedures; ensure procedures are continually followed and updated

Oversee performance management by developing and coaching team. Be a strong talent evaluator with a focus on development of others to perform by providing ongoing feedback and by providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods
Use subject matter expertise to review and enhance the control environment and identify and implement process improvements
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate issue resolution, process improvements, and risk reduction. Take a lead role on department projects and initiatives
Implement short and medium term strategies and ensure execution of divisional goals at a department level
Oversee development of training plans and delivery to meet staff development targets
Mitigate risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior
