Nominated a Top Workplace ten years in a row! Provide cleaning and minor maintenance of Hornig Companies’ buildings throughout the Minneapolis/ St. Paul metro area. Cleaning support may occur in common areas and individual apartments that vary in complexity, location and a diverse range of clientele. Attention to detail and the ability to manage time and meet deadlines are key components of this role.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds regularly.
  • Have the ability to manage time, balance and meet deadlines
  • Have the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, including reading and following instructions on work orders and safety information on cleaning supplies
  • Able to review and enter information in several different computer programs and phone applications
  • Able to maintain regular on-site attendance
  • Possess and maintain valid driver’s license and meet car insurance requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, caretaking or janitorial experience is preferred.
  • Multi-housing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Respond to work orders via internet-based phone application.
  • Communicate with staff, residents and all levels of management in a prompt, professional manner that upholds Hornig Companies’ customer service standards.
  • Clean vacant units, preparing for new occupancy. Cleaning may include deep cleaning as well as light touch-up, depending on the project.
  • Clean common areas. Common areas may include entryways, hallways, landings, stairwells, laundry areas, and community rooms.
  • Wipe down and/or scour appliances, cabinets, cupboards, counters heating registers, light fixtures, blinds, closets, etc.
  • Trash, litter and clutter removal.
  • Sweep, vacuum and mop surfaces.
  • Window and glass cleaning.
  • Assist in light grounds care as needed; for example weeding, watering and trash removal in preparation for leasing tours.
  • May assist in Spring/Fall cleaning twice per year, as well as other projects as needed.
  • Assist in delivery of items such as keys, flyers and paperwork as requested by management.
