About The Position

Reporting to the Shop Superintendent and/or their designee, the Shop Operations positions will perform the tasks/duties as listed below. Essential Duties (other duties may be assigned): Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces, assists in fitting and welding. Holds tape rods and marks reference points to assist in layout. Attaches chain and other handling equipment to material preparing for movement by crane or jib. Cleans buckshot, burrs and other surface imperfections resulting from fabrication prior to load out. Cleans work area, machines, tools, and equipment. Tools of this job include grinders, scrapers, hammers, and other handheld tools. Employee must be familiar and comfortable with their use. Ability to draw and interpret charts and graphs. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be highly motivated and able to work independently. Certificates and Licenses: Current OSHA certifications preferred. This job operates in a non-climate-controlled production/manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses hand tools.
