About The Position

The Clean Drift and Tally Crew Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a crew tasked with cleaning, drifting, and tallying casing (pipe) that will be installed by the drilling rig. This role ensures that all casing is cleaned, undamaged, and properly inventoried before being used in wellbore operations. The supervisor will lead by example, ensuring safety protocols are followed, operations are carried out efficiently, and that all quality standards are met. This position requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of oilfield operations, and a commitment to safety and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in oilfield operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role in clean drift, tallying, or related activities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse crew.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, especially in tracking materials and monitoring work quality.
  • Solid understanding of oilfield safety practices and a proactive approach to safety.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and effectively, particularly in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials (up to 50 pounds), standing for long periods, and working in rugged, outdoor conditions.
  • Comfortable working in extreme weather conditions and in challenging environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with casing operations, including cleaning, drifting, and inventory management, is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, direct, and motivate a crew of workers responsible for cleaning, drifting, and tallying casing.
  • Assign tasks to crew members based on skill levels and operational needs.
  • Provide hands-on guidance and support to ensure that work is completed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company standards.
  • Monitor crew performance and provide feedback and training as needed to improve operational efficiency and safety.
  • Ensure all casing is properly cleaned and free of debris, mud, or other contaminants prior to installation.
  • Oversee the drifting process to verify that casing dimensions meet operational specifications and are free of obstructions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of casing to identify any damage or defects that could impact the integrity of the well.
  • Ensure the crew uses the correct methods and equipment for cleaning, drifting, and inspection.
  • Accurately count, track, and record the number of casing joints and other related materials used during the operation.
  • Maintain an updated tally sheet or digital record of all casing pipe, ensuring that the proper material is available when needed.
