About The Position

Under the direction of the Network Manager, the Classroom Technology Support Specialist is responsible for supporting instructional technology and classroom A/V systems across campus.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
• 1–2 years of technical or A/V support experience
• Skill and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
• Good oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
• Advanced knowledge and understanding of a wide range of computer, networking software, hardware systems, and related technologies
• Ability to install, configure, and maintain personal computers, networks, and/or related hardware or software
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends
• Ability to travel between campus buildings
• Required to maintain a valid NM driver’s license to operate University vehicles
• Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and odd hours as required
• Must be willing to travel

Nice To Haves

• Higher education experience
• A/V troubleshooting experience (projectors, sound, control systems, microphones).
• Apple and A/V troubleshooting experience
• Strong customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Support classroom A/V systems including projectors, displays, audio, microphones, and control systems
• Provide in-person and remote support for faculty, staff, and students
• Perform preventive maintenance and quarterly inspections
• Support Apple macOS and iOS devices
• Document work in the IT ticketing system
• Support academic and special events
• Maintain inventory and asset tracking
• Develop user guides and training materials
• Perform other duties as assigned
