Responsible for assisting with program orientation, assisting in classroom as needed, following student intake procedures, CASAS pre and post testing and tracking of student information in the TOPSpro/Enterprise (TE) online system, working with Connectable and Burlington English, recruiting for the various programs administered through the Adult Education and Literacy program, promoting and recruiting for all programs in the community. Constant (67-100%) Ability to work evenings (approximately 2 evenings per week). Recruit students for the ELL and HSED program. Manage intake of ELL and HSED students. Follow Iowa Department of Education guidance and procedures for state and local reporting. Tracking of all required student information and forms and following FERPA guidelines. Work cooperatively with other college personnel in ensuring student success. Maintain security for all testing materials. Maintain an appropriate learning environment. Motivate and encourage students towards their learning goals. Utilize problem solving and time management skills. Maintain files & records with a high degree of confidentiality Frequent (34-66%) Assist or conduct evening orientation sessions for ELL students. Maintain attendance records. Assist students in transitioning from ELL to HSED and HSED to college credit classes. Monitor student instructional hours for testing eligibility. Enter data and maintain records in TE online system for state and federal reporting. Administer state required online assessments for student placement and educational gains. Work with the state developed online platform for students enrolling in distance education. Assist students in registration process. Occasional (10-33%) Participate in professional development activities and attend educational workshops. Promote adult literacy classes to local agencies and businesses by participating in local community activities and attending local meetings. Review current educational and curriculum publications. Keep current on testing scores. Other duties as assigned.
