About The Position
ESOL Assistants must possess bilingual skills in the language of concentration. ESOL Assistants are not required to be Highly Qualified unless they are assigned to a Title 1 school. Their primary function is to be able to facilitate communication between teacher, student and home. They do not plan for instruction but support the students based on assignments from the teacher.
Requirements
- NON Title One Schools a. High School diploma or equivalent
- Title One Schools ONLY: a. High School diploma or equivalent and b. ONE of the following: i. Associate's degree from an accredited institution OR ii. Sixty (60) credits minimum from an accredited institution OR iii. Passing score (464) on the Praxis Paraprofessional test
- ESOL Assistants must possess bilingual skills in the language of concentration.
