About The Position

The Classification Analyst (CA) will be the senior most classification authority on a site below the Classification Officer (CO). They will support the CO by developing, implementing, and managing the Centrus Energy Classification and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) Program at Piketon, Oak Ridge, Bethesda and various strategic supplier facilities. The CA also is responsible for supporting field elements by consulting with trained Derivative Classifiers (DC)s to make proper classification determinations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security, Engineering, or Physical Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Ability to prepare concise technical documents concerning application of classification requirements to specific cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of centrifuge nuclear enrichment equipment and support systems.
  • Five (5) years’ experience conducting training on complex tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for all classification questions or concerns at the respective site for DCs and site personnel.
  • Attend the Insider Threat Program meetings should the CO be unavailable.
  • Assist with the management, implementation and operation of Classification program for identification and protection of classified and sensitive unclassified information.
  • Performs duties of Derivative Classifier, Derivative Declassifier, and Unclassified Controlled Nuclear Information Reviewing Official.
  • Assist with authoring updated classification guidance for submission to DOE EHSS-60 for issue.
  • Provides training to Derivative Classifiers and UCNI Reviewing Officials.
  • Research complex questions concerning application of classification requirements to Centrus technology and render expert judgments.
  • Communicate classification changes or interpretations to DCs for implementation.
  • Perform Derivative Declassification of documents and materials that are determined to be no longer classified.
  • Provide public release review and approval for documents containing technical information intended for publication or release.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and proposed classification positions, orders, and regulations impacting American Centrifuge technology.
  • Interface with the CO for the interpretation of classification guidance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Centrus/ACO information covered under Executive Order 13556, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI).
  • Serve as a marking subject matter expert for CUI.
  • Conduct surveys of Restricted Areas approved for use of classified matter to ensure use and storage minimum requirements are met. Report findings to management.
  • Conduct surveys of Closed Areas approved for open storage of classified matter to ensure minimum storage requirements are met. Report findings to management.
  • Assist in the development, execution, and analysis of security risk assessments for new and existing assets as needed.
  • Assist with the development, review, or approval of Centrus/ACO documents
  • Other duties as assigned.
