About The Position

The City of Greeley Recreation is looking for Adaptive and Inclusive Class Instructors to join our growing team. We are looking for instructors who can teach and lead in a variety of formats including youth and adult sports, swim lessons and other aquatic programs, and social programs. Instructors are responsible for leading safe, effective, and motivating programs for community members with varying ability levels.

Requirements

Ability to design an effective class based on the format and participant needs.
Ability to provide program modifications for a wide variety of abilities.
Ability to work effectively with participants of all abilities and understand techniques for inclusion facilitation and positive behavior support
Ability to uniquely motivate and build rapport with class participants to provide a safe and welcoming environment.
Customer service experience.
Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid Certification required: American Heart Association or American Red Cross. (must obtain within 60 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

Experience teaching swim lessons desired
Experience working with individuals with disabilities desired

Responsibilities

Responsible for design and delivery of group programs on the weekly schedule.
Keep accurate record of class attendance.
Willingness to cross-train in other program areas.
Serve as a role model to staff and participants as it relates to personal fitness, etiquette and safety.
Provide a friendly, inclusive, service-oriented environment for staff and participants.
Provide positive relations and policy education to participants.
Maintain familiarity of Greeley Recreation functions including risk management procedures, membership information, basic operational practices, and understanding of programs and services.
Respond to all injuries and assist in immediate emergency procedures.
