About The Position

Stepp’s Towing & Heavy Transport is a family-owned business since 1960, proudly serving the greater Tampa Bay and Orlando areas. They specialize in light-, medium-, and heavy-duty towing, heavy transport, and auto salvage. The company is seeking experienced Class A CDL Heavy Haul Transport Drivers with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and excellent problem-solving abilities. This local/regional position involves hauling high, wide, and heavy loads using various trailers such as lowboy, Landoll, step-deck, flatbed, and heavy-duty rollbacks. The team is committed to excellence, safety, and supporting the community. A sign-on bonus of $2,500 is offered for those hired by April 30, 2026.

Requirements

• Class A CDL with at least 2 years of verifiable experience
• Current DOT Medical Card
• TWIC Card (within 30 days of hire)
• HAZMAT endorsement (within 90 days of hire)
• Registered in the DOT Clearinghouse
• Clean driving record (for at least the last 3 years)
• MUST be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Experience with heavy equipment hauling required
• MUST be able to drive manual transmission trucks
• Must have own set of tools once assigned to a truck

Responsibilities

• Maneuver tractor and trailers into loading/unloading positions, following signals from crew and ensuring safe positioning
• Pull trailers configured with tow bars or goosenecks as needed
• Load and unload trucks, operate special loading equipment, and assist others as required
• Secure equipment for transport using ropes, chains, binders, etc.
• Operate multi-axle trailers for heavy equipment transport
• Use GPS mapping effectively
• Work in all weather conditions
