As a Skilled CLASS A CDL Laborer/Groundman, you will support all phases of utility construction for various types of telecom projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. THIS IS A TRAVEL POSITION Compensation ranges from $25-28/hr, or prevailing wage in certain locations if working on the project The schedule is typically 6 days per week, 10-12 hours per day Per diem includes hotel + $50 for food. Crews may travel one week at a time, occasionally extended stays up to two weeks before returning home for a break. Overtime pay will be provided in accordance with California labor laws, at 1.5 times the regular hourly rate for hours worked over 8 hours in a day or 40 hours in a workweek. Rest and Meal Breaks: You will be compensated for paid rest periods and granted unpaid meal breaks in accordance with California labor laws. "At-will employment": Your employment with MasTec is “at-will,” meaning either you or the company may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or notice.

Responsibilities

Responsible for various manual tasks such as digging trenches, unloading building materials, and preparing job sites with use of hand tools like shovels, rakes, and picks
Work in outdoor utility construction sites
Transport heavy equipment to and from the job site each day
Build and maintain aerial and underground cable systems
Troubleshoot problems as they arise in the field
Learn and train to use various kinds of tools and equipment
