About The Position

Provides information and performs administrative functions related to deceased member accounts.

Requirements

  • One month to twelve months of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Must have good listening and communication skills. Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
  • Must be proficient with general office equipment, PC and ancillary software.
  • Must have the ability to fully comprehend and explain share and loan related products and services, account transactions, fees, dividends, loan interests and debt protection products.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with individuals and branch staff to receive death notifications. Provides information and gathers information and documents needed to disburse funds and close accounts, adhering to policies, procedures, workflows and supervisors' guidance.
  • Researches account and loan/Mastercard history and documents to identify and verify account ownership, beneficiaries, borrowers and guarantors. Determines if debt protection products exist and which borrower(s) are covered. Assists with filing claims, determining funds distribution and posting. Assists in calculating and posting dividends.
  • Promotes, explains and cross-sells Credit Union products and services. Encourages and assists members with enrollment in electronic services and refers members to Eglin Wealth Management Services.
  • Performs other job related duties as assigned.
