AIG manages claims using a wealth of technical and market Knowledge about risks, business practices, and the ever-evolving legal and regulatory environment. The Claims Intake Department (CID) receives the First Notices of Loss (FNOL) and sets up Excess and Environmental claim files, as well as triaging or monitoring Notice Only Excess claim files. Claim files managed in CID encompass wide-ranging subject matter including excess construction defect, mass tort, healthcare/medical malpractice, environmental, excess workers comp., general liability and punitive damage exposures. The files are initially assigned to CID technicians who initiate investigations to evaluate the exposure and determine if the claim files should be opened and assigned to an adjuster (Excess Analyst) or segmented as a Notice Only for continued monitoring within CID. CID’s handling of FNOLs lays the foundation for early recognition of exposures that could impact the financial results of the company. You must have a working knowledge of the legal and claim-handling process across the U.S. and be able to recognize issues that require escalation. The right candidate will be able to build strong networks with the different claims units, underwriting, IT and external stakeholders supported by CID and have a proven track record of delivering outstanding results.
