Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Five years of claims management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Knowledge of California jurisdiction is essential, along with appropriate licensing.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills are a must for effective claims resolution.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and process complex workers' compensation claims to determine exposure and manage claims to resolution.
  • Negotiate settlements within designated authority and ensure claims are well documented.
  • Calculate and assign reserves throughout the claim lifecycle and manage timely benefit payments.
  • Prepare necessary state filings within statutory limits and oversee litigation processes.
  • Coordinate vendor referrals and utilize cost containment strategies to manage overall claim costs.
