We are growing — and we’re looking for a driven, analytical Claims Examiner to join our Casualty Lines Division in Richmond, VA. What You’ll Do As a Claims Examiner, you will take ownership of a diverse portfolio of moderate to complex Property Liability claims and play a key role in delivering fair, timely, and strategic claim resolutions. Your impact will include: Managing the full lifecycle of property liability claims under the guidance of a Claims Supervisor Conducting thorough investigations to evaluate liability, damages, and exposure Interpreting policy coverage and drafting clear, professional coverage correspondence Communicating coverage determinations effectively to policyholders, brokers, and stakeholders Negotiating claims to resolution with sound judgment and strong business acumen Managing litigated claims, including appointing and directing defense counsel Driving litigation strategy proactively toward efficient resolution Participating in mediations and settlement conferences Maintaining precise, well-documented claim files You won’t just process claims — you’ll analyze, strategize, and influence outcomes. What We’re Looking For We’re seeking someone who is intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to grow within the E&S marketplace.

Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience handling property liability claims or related industry experience
• Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Confident negotiation skills and sound decision-making
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Experience directing investigations and working with defense counsel
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
