Thanks for your interest in working on our team! Central Transport Inc. is currently seeking an Analyst to join our Cargo Claims department located out of the General Office in Warren, MI. We are looking for an experienced, detailed, forward thinking and highly motivated candidate. The ideal candidate should possess or be willing to take on: A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required Proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong willingness and eagerness to learn and advance within the company Organizational and work flow tracking skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task Experience in LTL, distribution/logistics, transportation or operations management is preferred but not required Proven track record of problem identification and problem solving Experience and knowledge in freight movement is a plus Experience and knowledge of the legal claims process is a plus

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required
  • Experience in LTL, distribution/logistics, transportation or operations management is preferred but not required
  • Experience and knowledge in freight movement is a plus
  • Experience and knowledge of the legal claims process is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Processing damage and shortage cargo claims filed by CT customers
  • Providing defense items for federal and small claim legal cases
  • Accident investigation including working remotely with terminals to properly recoup freight
  • Negotiating paid settlements with claimants if necessary
  • Application of NMFC guidelines, contracts, and the CT100 rules tariff
  • Entering pertinent claim data into Access
