The position involves investigating, evaluating, disposing, and settling the most complex claims and highest exposures with minimal supervision. This includes the investigation, determination, and evaluation of coverage, liability, and damages, as well as setting proper reserves. Incumbents at this level typically hold claims reserve and settlement authority of up to $10,000 liability and/or $25,000 workers compensation or greater. The role requires exercising proper judgment and decision-making to analyze claims exposure, determine the appropriate course of action, and settle claims effectively. Extensive interaction with various parties involved in the claim process is expected, along with the ability to clearly communicate concise action plans and present strategies for case conclusion. The successful candidate will demonstrate complete knowledge of the claim file process, process claims consistent with client and corporate policies, procedures, and best practices, and adhere to all statutory, regulatory, and ethics requirements. The role also includes complying with carrier reporting and threshold requirements, recognizing and pursuing excess insurance recoveries, and managing a full caseload with increased severity.
