About The Position

This non licensed position will be responsible for the initial investigation, valuation, assessment of exposure, negotiation, and settlement creation of assigned claims for CPI, VSI and GAP claims. There will be no stipulated monetary authority. Key activities associated with the position include customer acknowledgement and communication throughout the claim process, investigation into the applicability of policy coverage and application to the loss, evaluation of claims with minimal damages, initial negotiation and recommend settlement of the claim to the licensed adjuster for specialized claim types. The position will require that all assigned claims tasks and responsibilities are concluded promptly, equitably, and economically within the provisions of the policy contract and in accordance with the claims circumstances presented for each claim type. This position prepares the associate to become a licensed claims adjuster.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of work-related experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Complete tasks that are part of the initial claim review (40%)
  • Determine the appropriate application of coverage by querying the tracking system on all assigned claims.
  • If no coverage exists to cover a loss date, request quick issue certificates, and follow up at specified intervals until policy is placed and verified/paid.
  • Review initial claim filings to determine if all required claim documentation is appropriate and has been received.
  • Request required documents as needed to process claims if not received up front.
  • Position will have regular daily contact with clients and borrowers throughout the claim process to ensure required documents are received and processed.
  • Thoroughly review all required claim documentation including security agreements, loan histories, payment histories, NADA valuations, underlying claim evaluations, collection notes, statements by pertinent parties and request pertinent information from lenders to ensure all information to adjudicate the claim is provided to ensure accurate and thorough settlement recommendations to the licensed adjuster.
  • Complete claim closure tasks (40%)
  • Process claims closures in RDN for SKIP claims.
  • Process claims withdrawals and non-pursued claims as needed – including sending carrier mandated templates with appropriate claim closing language.
  • Damage appraisal tracking - Review and follow up to ensure that appraisal time service SLAs are met.
  • Also reassign any appraisals that are rejected from the daily automated tool.
  • Review initial damage appraisals to determine how to proceed with claims handling and reassign claims to adjuster and/or sr. adjusters based on vehicle assessment by the appraiser.
  • Total Loss, salvage and other claim support (20%)
  • Adjuster support with total loss salvage claims inquiries.
  • Contacts salvage yards for fees/dollars owed via callouts and follow up.
  • Contacts client to determine if fee deduction is acceptable.
  • Document the claim file and communicate salvage and fee amounts to the adjuster to complete the total loss settlement.
  • Assist licensed adjusters with processing claims within the guidelines of the appropriate underwriting company. There are approximately 6-8 different underwriting carriers to review and apply correct policy conditions.
  • Process auto deductible reimbursement claims.
