DAY TO DAY AS A CIVILIAN INVESTIGATOR As the City's Civilian Investigator, no two days are the same. You'll support active investigations by conducting research, analyzing evidence, and organizing case files-including reports, witness statements, and digital evidence-to ensure accuracy and completeness. You'll interview victims, witnesses, and community members, assist detectives by identifying patterns and summarizing findings, and prepare detailed reports that support case development and prosecution. Your role also includes maintaining records in the Records Management System, assisting with evidence tracking and documentation, and coordinating with law enforcement partners and legal entities across multiple counties. From supporting background investigations to occasionally assisting with court proceedings, your work strengthens the department's ability to serve the community with professionalism, empathy, and integrity.
