About The Position

Royal American Construction is taking applications for experienced individuals in the Civil Utilities construction industry. Must be 18 years of age and available to work weekends when needed. Valid Driver's License is preferred. Laborer - responsible for daily manual activities at the job sites. This includes digging, shoveling, trenchwork, sweeping, hand mixing materials, operate power tools and equipment, loading and unloading materials, climbing ladders, and working on elevated platforms. Pipe Layer - responsible for installing underground piping to connect buildings and building sites to water supplies, sewers, and stormwater management systems. Knowledge of excavation, alignment of pipe, establishing and maintaining proper grade, proper joining of popes and proper backfill procedures. Must be able to read site plans and use pipe grade lasers. Heavy Equipment Operator - responsible for safely operating construction equipment (bulldozers, backhoes, trench excavators, skid steers, etc.) that moves heavy materials, excavates gravel and earth, drives piles into the ground, or spreads and levels asphalt, concrete, and other paving material. Will be required to fill in as needed with other jobs at work during down times (IE. Laborer). Dump Truck Driver - responsible for operating trucks to and from the shop, transport materials from job sites to disposal sites, and assist crew as needed. Must have a valid Class B CDL license. Job Site Foreman - responsible for leading a team or crew in completing a construction project while ensuring jobs are done safely, on time and under budget. Read plans and specs, train new crew members, able to travel in company-owned vehicles to and from assigned job locations. Valid Driver's License required. Lift Station Crew Member - responsible for the successful completion of all jobs assigned and related to the installation of lift stations, pressure line taps, line stops, and Inserta valves. Must have a mechanical understanding of lift stations to ensure adherence with job specifications and standard. Valid Driver's License required; welding experience preferred. Road Crew Operator - responsible for safely operating road grading construction equipment (road grader, bulldozers, loaders, excavators, etc.) that are used for shaping and fine grading sub grades, base materials, shoulder, slopes, and cutting ditches. Grade Crew Operator - responsible for safely operating heave equipment to prepare, level and grade surfaces for construction projects such as roads, foundations, and infrastructure developments. This role involves working closely with site supervisor, surveyors, and other crew members to ensure precise grading and proper drainage according to project specifications. Concrete Finisher - responsible for finishing concrete surfaces to create a smooth, level and visually appealing surface. Use various tools and techniques to create different textures and finishes on concrete surfaces. Must be able to read blueprints, follow specifications and work with other trades to ensure that the finished product meets the project requirements. Incumbents are expected to have excellent attendance and communication skills, possess the ability to build lasting business relationships, and exhibit professionalism. Education and Experience: High school diploma and/or one (1) year experience in the construction environment Previous experience in civil utilities preferred Physical Requirements: Must be able to climb ladders Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted Walking or standing without rest periods up to 2.5 hours Ability to work outside all day in the elements (heat, cold, rain, etc.) Repeated bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, climbing, digging, shoveling, sweeping Paper applications can be completed at the RAC Shop located at 1185 E. 15th Street, Panama City, FL; however, if selected for hire, an application online will be required.
