About The Position

You will collaborate closely with the Discipline Lead to analyze, design, and support civil infrastructure projects with a focus on municipal water and wastewater, as well as paving, drainage, grading, and sanitary sewer systems. You will contribute to project coordination, construction activity reporting, resource planning, and mentoring of junior engineers. Once selected to join our team, you will: Analyze, design, and lead various aspects of assigned projects. Complete design calculations, ensuring conformance with codes, manuals, and project scope; coordinate with governing agencies as needed. Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and staff to produce plans and specifications. Prepare cost opinions and potentially report on construction activities, review pay estimates, shop drawings, and submittals. Seal work products and modify reports, specifications, plans, construction documents, studies, permits, and designs. Visit project sites periodically to review construction progress. Attend and participate in client meetings as needed. Assist the Discipline Lead with resource planning and forecasting. Mentor and train engineers. Make technical presentations as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStation software.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Bluebeam.
  • In-depth knowledge of civil infrastructure, including municipal water/wastewater, paving, drainage, grading, and sewer systems.
  • Proficiency in CAD design.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple assignments successfully.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to provide direction to others as needed.
  • 5+ years of civil engineering design experience.
  • 1+ year of experience as a licensed P.E.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas.
