About The Position

Phasor Engineering Inc. is a multi-disciplinary engineering consulting company. We provide engineering design services for utility companies, industrial companies, and municipalities. For more information, see www.phasorengineering.ca Phasor Engineering is currently seeking a Field Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Group. This is a field work on rotation of 20/8 days. Reporting to the Civil Field Services Manager, this position will be responsible for leading and executing foundation projects with the following duties and responsibilities.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution
Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada
2–5+ years of relevant field experience in civil construction, utilities, or infrastructure projects (experience in transmission, substations, or energy projects is an asset)
Strong understanding of civil construction practices, including earthworks, foundations, grading, drainage, and access road construction
Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and apply findings in the field
Familiarity with quality control/quality assurance (QA/QC) processes and documentation
Experience coordinating with contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced field environment
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with AutoCAD or Civil 3D is considered an asset
Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and work in remote or outdoor environments under varying weather conditions
Civil or Structural Engineering Tech / EIT
5-10 years’ experience in civil earthworks soil testing
Willing to spend 90% of the time in the field
Field Soil Testing experience
Project Coordinator experience
Safety tickets: Lab Compaction (SPMD/SPDD)
Field compaction testing (Nucellar densometer)
Additional lab soil tests: Hydrometer, CBR, Shear Test
Additional Field Tests: Electrical Resistivity, corrosivity, ASTM, CSA
Experience with asphalt and aggregate
At least a class 5 license with experience towing a trailer
