About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering IV in Dallas, TX. Job details: Provide task leadership and senior technical resources and serve as a technical advisor for the team, leading and mentoring junior engineers Develop hydrologic and hydraulic design analysis and detail plans for PS&E (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates) projects and use expertise in all steps of completing discipline components of a PS&E package Develop roadway geometric design, 3D models, and cross sections for PS&E projects of various complexities and use expertise in all steps of completing discipline components of a PS&E package Develop hydrologic and hydraulic design analysis and details as well as roadway geometric and pavement marking design for schematic plans Develop, study and design procedures to facilitate high quality, cost-effective work by others Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables and develop construction cost estimates and determine level of technical effort required for projects Perform quality control review of design calculations or drawings and prepare technical specification sections Provide input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements May telecommute

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in job offered or in a related occupation
  • Roadway and drainage design
  • Designing and analyzing stormwater systems for roadway projects, including conveyance, storage, and stormwater quality best management practices (BMP)
  • Hydrologic and hydraulic analysis of floodplains and floodways, storm sewer, inlet spacing, bridge and culvert crossings and hydraulic report preparation
  • Designing complex roadway horizontal and vertical alignments, determining ROW needs, and developing 3D models of roadways and/or drainage facilities
  • Preparing and reviewing schematic and PS&E (Plans, Specifications, and Estimates) drawings, details, layouts, cost estimates, studies, reports, permits needed and specifications
  • Computer software for: HEC-RAS, HY-8, and Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and HEC-HMS
