About The Position

The Transportation Division of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineering Intern for employment during Spring/Summer 2026 in the Novi, MI office. This position provides the opportunity to work on large, unique, and complex transportation projects throughout Michigan. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Work with field inspection teams for oversight of transportation construction projects. Monitor and record the work and progress of contractors while tracking material quality and usage. Ensure that traffic control measures are implemented and maintained during construction. Performing field reviews and taking field measurements. Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities. Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids. Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member. Meets required schedules while producing quality work.

Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering or Construction Management and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
