About The Position

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineering III, Bloomfield, NJ. Job details: Develop engineering deliverables including: Engineering reports Design drawings Technical specifications Other detailed engineering deliverables Conduct engineering process condition assessments and process evaluations Perform system and data analysis Analyze and interpret trends or data in relation to project objectives Confirm and/or develop basis for evaluation Develop engineer’s opinion of probable cost, including equipment quotations and vendor coordination Generate engineering reports as client deliverables with conclusions and recommendations Recommend technical design or process changes to improve efficiency, quality, or performance Translate complex technical data into easy-to-understand summaries for diverse stakeholders (technical and non-technical) Facilitate project meetings with clients and/or project teams Develop and review project schedules Develop project budgets and maintain routine estimate-to-complete (ETC) / estimate-at-complete (EAC) metrics Prepare proposal documents Advise junior-level engineering staff Delegate work assignments from Senior Management to junior staff, breaking milestone deliverables into actionable tasks suitable for skillset and ability Provide detailed review of assigned tasks, offering examples and guidance to ensure timely and compliant project deliverables Stay current with regulatory and funding landscapes, including submission of funding applications and supporting documentation Organize and maintain project documents and records for reproducibility and clear revision history Provide Bid Phase and Construction Services: Coordinate bid document distribution Facilitate pre-bid meetings Develop addenda and respond to questions Prepare contract documents Provide inspection and oversight of system construction to ensure compliance with design specifications and drawings Review and comment on equipment and/or material submittals from construction contractors Advise the client on scope, out-of-scope work, and the need for change orders as work progresses May work at various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Up to 20% domestic travel required to customer construction sites within the eastern U.S. (e.g., New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and other eastern seaboard states)

Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Wastewater Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a Civil Engineering related occupation.
  • Designing water and sewer infrastructure
  • Designing sewer collection systems using NASSCO standards
  • Lead Engineer for Lead Service Line Replacement (LSLR) projects
  • Conducting hydraulic calculations for water and wastewater process design
  • Technical report writing
  • Data evaluation
  • Concept and design-level CAD drafting
  • Preparation of permit and funding applications
  • Preparation of cost estimates and contract documents
  • Construction supervision
